We’re thrilled to be supporting Vision RCL this summer as they bring a fantastic lineup of free family-friendly events to the community as part of their Fabula Festival! From author visits and storytelling sessions to creative workshops and a borough-wide reading challenge – there's something for every young book lover to enjoy.

📖 Fabula Festival
7 July – 31 August
Taking place across all Redbridge library branches, the Fabula Festival is a celebration of stories, creativity, and imagination, including workshops, school events, early years storytelling, and author visits. Keep an eye out for Fabula posters throughout the borough!

👨👩👧👦 Families Takeover Day – Redbridge Central Library
Saturday 19 July
A jam-packed day to kick off the Fabula Reading Challenge! Enjoy interactive storytelling, author readings, crafts and fun activities.
📚 Featuring authors Kes Gray (Oi Dinosaurs!) and Joelle Avelina (A Book of People Like Me), with storytelling by Discover Children’s Story Centre.
📚 Fabula Reading Challenge
19 July – 31 August
Encouraging children aged 2–12 to read for fun this summer. Sign up with a library card at any Redbridge library or online, read as many books as you like, and earn a medal plus the chance to win a prize!
🎉 Author Visit: Carnival Queen with Donette Williams-Harry
Thursday 21 August
A vibrant author visit ahead of carnival season featuring Donette Williams-Harry and her empowering book Carnival Queen. Expect storytelling and fun carnival-themed crafts for kids!
