Redbridge Foodbank
We believe that no one in our community should have to face hunger. That’s why Exchange Ilford is proud to support The Trussell Trust’s Redbridge Foodbank, providing a year-round donation point to help ensure essential food and household items are available to local people when they need them most.
Every donation, no matter how small, can make a meaningful difference to individuals and families experiencing food insecurity. Visitors can support this important initiative by donating non-perishable food and essential household items at our Foodbank Donation Point, located on Level 2, opposite Warren James.
Together, we can help support our local community and make sure that those facing difficult times have access to the essentials they need.
Pre-Loved School Uniform Shop
Every child should have access to affordable, good-quality school uniform. The Pre-Loved School Uniform Shop helps make this possible by giving school clothing a second life, helping families access essential uniform at an affordable price while also reducing textile waste.
The initiative is powered by the generosity of our local community.
Our dedicated School Uniform Donation Station is located on Level 2, where you can drop off clean, good-quality school uniform throughout the year.
The Pre-Loved School Uniform Shop is run entirely by volunteers, whose time and support are essential to keeping the initiative running.
If you’d like to get involved and support the initiative, please email lounge@exchangeilford.co.uk to find out more about volunteering opportunities.
Our Rooftop Hives
Our Air Bee ’n’ Bee is home to more than 70,000 buzzing residents, working hard throughout the year to support Exchange Ilford’s rooftop ecosystem and produce delicious local honey.
Our rooftop hives provide a home for thousands of bees, helping to support pollination across our rooftop gardens and surrounding green spaces. Together with our planting and gardening initiatives, the hives play an important role in creating a more biodiverse environment above the centre
Sunflower Lanyards
At Exchange Ilford, we are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all visitors. Sunflower Lanyards are a widely recognised symbol used by people with hidden disabilities, helping to discreetly indicate that the wearer may require additional time, patience, understanding or assistance during their visit.
Sunflower Lanyards are available to purchase from the Management Suite on Level 5 for £5 each. All funds raised through the sale of the lanyards are reinvested into purchasing more, helping to keep them accessible and available to those who need them.
By wearing a Sunflower Lanyard, visitors can choose to signal that they may benefit from additional support while shopping, dining or enjoying everything Exchange Ilford has to offer.
