Toilets
Restroom facilities are available on Levels 1 and 3 of the centre, providing clean, safe and welcoming spaces for all visitors.
The Level 1 restrooms also feature dedicated family facilities, including private feeding rooms, comfortable seating and play areas for little ones. Whether feeding, changing or simply taking a moment to rest and recharge, families can enjoy a comfortable and convenient space during their visit to Exchange Ilford.
Our accessible cubicles on both levels are equipped with stoma-friendly facilities, including convenient shelving, mirrors and appropriate disposal bins, helping to ensure all visitors can shop comfortably and with confidence.
Parent & Child
As a family-focused shopping centre, Exchange Ilford is proud to offer thoughtfully designed facilities that help make every visit as comfortable and convenient as possible for families with young children.
From toddler toilets and baby-changing facilities to dedicated parent-and-baby rooms, our facilities are designed with the needs of our youngest visitors and their families in mind.
We understand that little ones sometimes need a moment to rest, feed or refresh. Whether it’s time for a nappy change, a quiet feed or simply a break from the bustle of the centre, our parent-and-baby rooms on Level 1 provide a comfortable and welcoming space for families.
These rooms feature:
- Private feeding areas for discreet nursing
- Comfortable, soft seating for parents and carers
- Play areas to help keep little ones entertained
- Convenient baby-changing facilities
Changing Places
Exchange Ilford is proud to offer the borough’s only Changing Places facility, providing essential space, equipment and support for people who require additional assistance when using toilet facilities.
Designed to promote greater comfort, dignity and independence, the facility includes specialist equipment such as a height-adjustable sink, toilet and adult-sized changing bench, alongside a privacy screen and hoist system to support safe and comfortable use.
Each Changing Places toilet features:
- Specialist equipment – Including a height-adjustable, adult-sized changing bench and ceiling tracking hoist system.
- Ample space – A centrally positioned toilet with sufficient space on both sides, alongside a privacy screen or curtain.
- A safe and hygienic environment – Featuring a wide tear-off paper roll to cover the changing bench, a large waste bin for disposable pads and non-slip flooring for added safety.
Together, these features provide a safe, comfortable and dignified experience, helping to ensure that more people can enjoy their visit to Exchange Ilford with confidence and independence.
Shopmobility
Shopmobility facilitates easier mobility in Exchange Ilford by offering:
– Powered wheelchairs and scooters for use around the town centre for anyone with mobility difficulties.
– Manual wheelchairs are also available for holiday hire.
– Escort services may be provided to assist you, available by appointment only.
Pricing:
– £2 for members (with a £10 annual membership fee)
– £5 for non-members
– Long-term loans are available for manual wheelchairs only.
Once registered, a member of the staff will discuss your requirements and help you choose a vehicle you feel comfortable using. Staff will provide training, and once you feel confident and the staff is satisfied with your control of the vehicle, you can begin your journey!
Quiet Hour
Our weekly Quiet Hour takes place every Tuesday from 9am to 10am, creating a calmer and more welcoming environment for guests with sensory sensitivities, autism and anxiety.
During Quiet Hour, music and non-essential tannoy announcements are switched off, while lighting is dimmed wherever possible to help create a more relaxed and comfortable atmosphere. Emergency announcements will continue as normal to ensure the safety of all visitors.
By reducing noise and sensory stimulation, Quiet Hour aims to make Exchange Ilford a more accessible and inclusive place for everyone to shop, visit and enjoy.

For added convenience, ATMs are available at several locations throughout Exchange Ilford, making it easy for visitors to access cash during their visit.

- Level 2 – Opposite The Fragrance Shop
- Level 2 – High Road entrance, next to Costa

Stay connected during your visit to Exchange Ilford with free Wi-Fi available throughout the centre.
Connecting is quick and simple. Just select Exchange Ilford Free Wi-Fi from the list of available networks, register using your email address and create a password to get online.
Whether you are catching up on emails, browsing while you shop, staying in touch with friends and family or sharing your visit on social media, our free Wi-Fi makes it easier to stay connected while you’re at the centre.
Once registered, you can enjoy convenient internet access as you shop, dine and explore everything Exchange Ilford has to offer.
Sunflower Lanyards
At Exchange Ilford, we are committed to creating a welcoming and inclusive environment for all visitors. Sunflower Lanyards are a widely recognised symbol used by people with hidden disabilities, helping to discreetly indicate that the wearer may require additional time, patience, understanding or assistance during their visit.
Sunflower Lanyards are available to purchase from the Management Suite on Level 5 for £5 each. All funds raised through the sale of the lanyards are reinvested into purchasing more, helping to keep them accessible and available to those who need them.
By wearing a Sunflower Lanyard, visitors can choose to signal that they may benefit from additional support while shopping, dining or enjoying everything Exchange Ilford has to offer.
